THE NETHERLANDS: the travelling day

konečně se dostávám k tomu nejzajímavějšímu dnu v Holandsku. To byl cestovní den. Od začátku jsem totiž měla plán, že bych se ráda v Holandsku podívala k moři, a přinejlepším i v něm vykoupala, tak jsem to svému průvodci řekla, a ten naplánoval, že tím pádem se musíme jet podívat do Zandvoort aan Zee. Zandvoort je prý totiž typické místo, kam holanďané jezdí k moři. Jeden z důvodů by mohl být, že to je na přímé vlakové trase z Amsterdamu. Zpáteční cesta do Zandvoortu by nás stála cca 22euro, ale Laurens našel na internetu nějakou akci, kde jsme si zaplatili denní jízdenku po Holandsku za 16euro a ještě jsme v určitých kavárnách mohli dostat kafe a zákusek. Tak tomu říkám výhodná nabídka :)
Díky této denní jízdence jsme se rozhodli, že budeme cestovat trochu víc, než bylo v plánu. Takže naše první trasa byla Houten-Utrecht-Amsterdam-Haarlem (města uprostřed jsou přestupy). V Haarlemu jsme vystoupili, protože jsem slyšela, že to je pěkné město. Zapomněla jsem teda, co to tam přesně je, ale tak proč bychom tam nevystoupili, že? Prošli jsme se tam trochu okolo a bylo to vážně pěkné město. Tam bych třeba i ráda bydlela. Je to nedaleko od moře, nedaleko od Amsterdamu, docela velké město, ale nezdálo se být nijak extra turistické, takže bylo velice sympatické. Krásné budovy a hezké centrum s pěší zónou... vlastně trochu jako v Anglii :)
Když jsme toto město prošli a dali si zasloužený moučník a kafe, pokračovali jsme v cestě k moři. V Zandvoortu jsme jen sledovali dav od vlaku a během 5-10minut jsme byli u moře. Chvíli jsme brouzdali v moři, pak si nechali na břehu věci a zaplavali si. Bylo to super!! Moře ze začátku sice mírně chladné, ale po chvilce jsem si zvykla :) jen vlny by mohly být větší :) pak už jsme se jenom vyvalili na sluníčko, užívali si teplý den a pozorovali okolí.
Po nějaké době, když nás to už omrzelo, rozhodli jsme se, že pojedeme dál. V Zandvoortu jsme tak natěsno stihli vlak, ještě jsme ho dobíhali :D a vydali se opět ve směru na Amsterdam. Říkali jsme si, že bychom se mohli podívat do Den Haagu, tak jsme dojeli do Amsterdamu, kde jsme zjistili, že na dráze se něco stalo, takže do Den Haagu se nedostaneme. Jako náhradní možnost nás napadlo město Gouda, ale ani to nakonec nevyšlo a vydali jsme se do menšího města, zvaného Leiden. Ale i to bylo nakonec pěkná možnost. Po projití tohoto města jsme byli ale už docela unaveni a uchozeni, tak jsme nasedli na vlak do Utrechtu a poté do Houten.
Den to byl super. Viděla jsem plno nových míst, užila si krásné počasí - byl to nejteplejší den toho týdne, a vykoupala se v moři! :)

finally I am getting to the most interesting day in Holland. That was Tuesday - the travelling day. From the beginning I planned to go to the beach in Holland, and if possible I wanted to swim in the sea. I told my wish to my great guide and he planned that we should go to Zandvoort aan Zee. Apparently, Zandvoort is the typical place to visit when one wants to go to the beach in Holland. The return ticket would cost about 22euros but Laurens got some kind of day ticket for 16euros and we could travel all day long wherever we wanted. And we could get coffee and a cake in some café. That´s what I call a good deal! :)
Thanks to this ticket we decided that we could travel a little bit more than it had been originally planned. So the first journey was Houten-Utrecht-Amsterdam-Haarlem (the cities inbetween were just to change the train). We got off the train in Haarlem because I had heard that it was a nice city. I actually forgot what was so interesting there but why wouldn´t we visit it? We walked through the centre and I really liked it. That might be the kind of city I could live in - near to the capital and the sea, big enough but didn´t seem extra touristy, good train connection, beautiful buildings and nice enviroment. Te pedestrian area reminded me a little bit of the high streets in England :)
When we finished our route there and got the well-deserved cake and a coffee, we continued with our journey to the sea. In Zandvoort we could just follow the crowd and we got to the beach in 5-10 minutes. We walked along the shore with our feet in the sea and later we left our stuff soon got used to it :) just the waves could be a bit bigger ;) then we layed down on the beach and enjoy the warm day, the sun and watched other people.
After a while when we had already enjoyed enough this kind of laziness we decided to go. In Zandvoort we nearly missed the train but we ran so we got on it on time. And so we went on. We thought that it could be nice to go to Den Haag but then we found out that something happened on the railways and the trains went differently. A change of plans was necessary. Visiting Gouda wasn´t possible either, so in the end we just went to Leiden which was also an interesting choice and I enjoyed it. We spent just a little while there because we were tired so we took the first train to Utrecht and then to Houten.
It was a great day. I saw many new places, I enjoyed the beautiful weather - it was the warmest day of the week, and I swam in the sea! :) What else could I wish for? ;)
